Meeting Schedule through March 2012 - February 2013

The “Young in Heart” was organized for any interested adults 50+ for the purpose of Christian Fellowship. Meetings usually fall on the third Thursdays and are usually held in the daytime. The December and February meetings are held at night to accommodate some of the younger members, who might want to get acquainted and “test out” the group. Some meetings are held in the Fellowship Hall and some are trips outside the church. Yearly dues of $15 per person cover group expenses and some meals. (They are due in January and are given to the Treasurer, Wilma Artis). All interested persons are welcome and are given an opportunity to volunteer for leadership roles. March 15, 2012…. 10:00 am - Visit the Smithsonian Exhibit in the Hunt School in the Arab Historic Village at Arab City Park. Go out Shoals Creek Trail, turn into park in front of the swimming pool, turn onto City Park Drive; turn left onto Elvin Light Drive. 12:00 – Eat Dutch Treat with place to be announced.

April 19, 2012………..11:00 am - Eat at the Bevill Conference Center at 550 Sparkman Drive NW in Huntsville, 256-721-9428 with meal cost of $8. 1:00 pm – Visit the Howard Weeden House (300 Gates Ave.) with cost per person of $4.00.

May 17, 2012…….…..10:00–1:00 pm – Visit Palisades Park in the Moss Lodge (near Oneonta), fun/relaxing/singing of gospel hymns with Shirley Gullion.

Pizza, salad & desserts with pizza from Giovanni’s featured in the recent “Alabama Living.” Follow Hwy 231, before getting to Oneonta watch for the Palisades Park sign, turn left and follow the rest of the signs.

June-August………. No meetings

September 20, 2012………..5:00 pm - Come early, bring folding chairs and visit. 6:00 pm Bar-B-Q Picnic – at the large City Park Pavilion. Demonstration & lessons by Betty Parker’s Line Dancers. Go out Shoals Creek Trail, turn into City Park and go behind the swimming pool.

October 18, 2012……...…Dee Rowley is planning a Fall Leaf Boat Cruise (Details later)

November 15, 2012………...10:00 am - Traditional Thanksgiving covered dish dinner in the Fellowship Hall with the Kingsland Quartet performing. (Turkey will be provided).

December 13, 2012………...6:00 pm - Catered Dinner (Kent Gibbs) in Fellowship Hall. Entertainment provided by the B-Team Angels. Tickets are $10 per person, sold in advance.

January 17, 2013…...10:00 am - Soup/Salad/Sandwich/Sweets/ in the Fellowship Hall with Ken Patterson’s men’s singing group from the First Baptist Church Of Guntersville, AL performing. Also plans for the 2013-2014 year will be discussed.

February 21, 2013………...6:00 pm - Annual Italian Dinner in the Fellowship Hall with speaker Dan Leuker sharing about Alzheimer.
