Children’s Department!
The reassuring sounds of children at work and at play give promise to the dreams and aspirations of tomorrow. It is our goal that each of these children know and experience God through the loving message of Jesus and the stories from the Bible. Providing a safe and nurturing environment for all our children, from infants through sixth grade, is of utmost importance. As our children grow in their understanding of God’s ever-present love, they will learn to live responsibly with others and to show respect for all life. The ultimate goal is for all our children to know that they are children of God.
Jennifer Arrington is the Children’s Director.
We are honored to serve the families of our church, so please contact any of us if you have a question, have a problem, or have a suggestion! If you’d like to serve in Children’s Ministry we will gladly find a place for you. We have many wonderful volunteers who lovingly teach our children every week in Sunday School or during Wednesday night activities, but we will always find room for more.
Sunday school begins at 9:30 and ends at 10:30

3rd Graders will begin a Bible Study in the Spring, which will be held during the Sunday School Hour. This is a class that we teach every year, using the book “Finding Your Way Through the Bible.” This book is so wonderful for elementary aged children as it teaches children to be able to find any book in the Old or New Testament, find any chapter in any book and any verse in any chapter. This book and Bible Study will help children use and enjoy their Bibles! Ms. Leslie Smith will be teaching this Bible Study which will last for 3 months. At the end of this study, the children will be presented with beautiful Bibles, engraved with their name, as a gift from the church.
Wednesday night Activities:
Wednesday night activities begin at 5:45 and end at 6:45.
We have lots of fun on Wednesday nights and hope you will bring your child each week. We have a variety of things that we do: We begin each night singing silly camp songs and get everyone relaxed and in a good mood. Then we have class time where we spend time learning more about Jesus, our church, and being a Christian. We also have music time where we have choir, play handballs, play other musical instruments, or practice for plays that we present. We have craft time and occasional pizza parties! No week is exactly like the week before, so children never know what to expect and are excited to come each week.
Three and Four Year-olds are in room 227 and taught by Ms. Stephanie McWhirter. 5 Year-olds and Kindergarteners are in room 226 and taught by Ms. Tammy Anderson and Ms. Carol Phillips.
